AISACT Voice for Educators – Term 3
About
The Voice for Educators, chaired by Ms Leonie Harwood, Principal of Burgmann Anglican School, is a termly, fit-for-purpose forum that brings together key coordinators, leaders, and practitioners from AISACT member schools. The forum provides valuable opportunities to connect, collaborate, and share information, resources, and professional expertise across the Independent school sector.Building on the Anti-Bullying Rapid Review session held in Term 2, the Term 3 forum will focus on where theory meets practice. Participants will share how their schools are responding to, and implementing the recommendations arising from the review, providing practical examples, reflections, and opportunities for professional discussion.
This in-person session will provide a valuable opportunity for schools to learn from one another, explore effective approaches, and strengthen sector-wide collaboration in supporting student wellbeing and safe school environments.
Participants will be asked to speak/ present/ lead/ share practice on the following topics:
*Programs / Speakers recommended in schools to address Bullying (In the meeting, people suggested UR Strong, Bullying prevention, Mean on Purpose and Donna Cross)
*Parents – Education, Engagement, Norms, Codes of Conduct
*Managing instances – Capturing student voice, determining impact/harm, applying the continuum, investigation processes
*Provocative Target – Responses to this term
*Reviewing Data – looking beyond instances to responding to trends
*Policy and Procedure – Bring along examples and support each to review
