Tiny Sanctuary, Big Impact Workshop

About
Learn how to turn your home into a microsanctuary and your care into advocacy.
Presented by Catherine Kelaher and Isy Veira of NSW Hen Rescue.
Tiny Sanctuary, Big Impact is a powerful, practical workshop for vegan animal advocates who want to offer liberated animals a brilliant life and use exceptional care to drive real change.
So what exactly is a microsanctuary?
It is caring for a small number of animals to an exceptionally high standard, and sharing their stories with the world. Some microsanctuaries are on acreage, but many are simply people's homes or even apartments. Microsanctuaries typically focus on the animals most overlooked by society: hens rescued from factory farms, rats and mice saved from laboratories, roosters dumped on the streets, sheep saved from a slaughterhouse, pigeons, fishes and other animals who rarely get a second glance.
Learn how to start a microsanctuary from your own home, and give animals the safety, autonomy and individual care they deserve.
You'll also discover how to share their stories in ways that touch hearts, shift perspectives, and help those still trapped in farms, labs and cages.
Special guest speaker: Nicole Beasley, Founder of Rosie's Hospice of Compassion
If you've followed the journey of Tilt, the rescued rooster or any of her other feathered family members, you'll know exactly why we talk about Nicole's work so often. Her microsanctuary is a shining example of what one person's deep care can achieve. We're thrilled to welcome Nicole as a guest speaker.

Microsanctuaries can take pressure off larger rescues while becoming an effective form of advocacy. Rooted in deep care and smart storytelling, your home can become a refuge and have a powerful ripple effect.
After two fantastic workshops in Sydney and Brisbane, we can't wait to bring Tiny Sanctuary, Big Impact to Melbourne.
You'll leave inspired and ready to take action, with your own personalised workbook which you will complete on the day.
Your booking fee includes your workbook, pen and delicious vegan snacks.
A note on pricing
Tiny Sanctuary, Big Impact is run by NSW Hen Rescue, a registered charity. We love running these workshops, but they always cost us more than we make back.
Workbooks, venue hire and snacks add up. So we've priced tickets in tiers.
Every ticket includes your workbook, pen and delicious vegan snacks. If money is tight, choose the solidarity ticket with no questions asked. If you're able to pay a little more, the supporter ticket helps us cover costs, offer affordable places, and keep more funds where they belong, with the animals.
