About

FKCANT is proud to share this special NAIDOC Week event hosted by the Department of Children and Families, through the Greater Darwin Region Aboriginal Practice Network.

NAIDOC Week is an important time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, achievements and strength. This year’s theme, 50 Years Deadly, recognises 50 years of NAIDOC Week and the powerful legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.

This event will be a welcoming and family-friendly morning for children in out-of-home care, their families, foster and kinship carers, and Department of Children and Families staff.

We warmly encourage foster and kinship carers to come along with the children in their care, connect with others, enjoy the activities, and take part in this celebration together.

There will be plenty for children and families to enjoy, including:

Welcome to Country
Games and crafts
Water play
Silent disco
Rosie’s Library
Sausage sizzle
‘50 Years of Deadly’ cake
