About

Emotionworks Cut Opera reimagines Verdi’s beloved La Traviata as a bold, fast-moving 90-minute cabaret-style production that fuses opera with jazz, blues and timeless classics. Set in the intimate Heroes Lounge at the St Kilda Army and Navy Club, this fresh, re-worked “Opera Fusion” version follows Violetta, a celebrated courtesan facing illness, love and devastating sacrifice. With wit, theatrical energy and emotional depth, the production explores love, judgement and humanity through Verdi’s unforgettable music and soulful contemporary sounds.
