About
It's been a journey!Established in 1956 as UNE's first residential college, Wright College began its journey as a cornerstone of the University's residential experience.
Seven decades later, Wright College and Village remains home to a proud community of alumni and former residents whose experiences, friendships and achievements have shaped its rich history.

1975 Claude Street Flats commissioned, consisting of 32 flats clustered in blocks of either 6 or 8 bedroom.
1989 Claude Street Flats were renamed Wright Village
1990s Original Wright College was closed and later demolished
2014 Amalgamation of Wright College and Wright Village
2015 New Wright College officially opened; rooms include a kitchenette and ensuite
We invite all alumni and former residents to return from 2–4 October 2026 to celebrate the 70th Reunion weekend and reconnect with the place they once called home.
