Learn pearl and bead threading like a professional!
Participants in the Pearl and Bead Threading Workshop are introduced to
- the skill of tying knots between pearls and beads
- threading pearls and beads in fully knotted and plain styles
- the materials that can be used
- the fittings and equipment such as clasps, thread, needles and gimp
DATES: Sunday 23rd August & Sunday 30th August
COST: Non-members $490, GAA Members $430
TIME: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days
VENUE: GAA House, 380-382 Spencer Street, West Melbourne VIC 3003
LUNCH: It's best to bring your own lunch (limited lunch options in the area). Tea and coffee will be provided.
MATERIALS: All materials are provided. Each student will receive a string of pearls to work on and keep.

This course is presented by Lesley Longmuir
Lesley is a Gemmologist and Jewellery Valuer who has worked in the industry threading all sizes, types and shapes of pearls and beads for over thirty years. Lesley is a valued member of the Melbourne jewellery community and many leading jewellers trust her with their special items.
Lesley is looking forward to sharing her skills with the next generation of pearl and bead lovers.
This course is presented in two parts. Participants must attend on both days.

Learn the basics of pearl threading under the skilful tuition of one of Melbourne's most experienced pearl threaders.

If you are travelling from interstate or overseas please ensure that you take out travel insurance to cover your costs in case of course cancellation.
Minimum participants are required to run a scheduled class. In the event that minimum numbers are not reached, GAA (Vic) reserves the right to either reschedule your booking or request to transfer your booking into another scheduled class. In the event that the class is cancelled, participants will be notified as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours before the scheduled class date.
There is no assessment or formal qualification attached to this short course.
A minimum age of 18 years is required. GAA provides education to adults only.
