Presenters will include three instructors from a variety of styles and dojo.

This seminar is for students aged 13 and above. Please note there are two ticket prices for AFTK members and non-members. You do not need to be an individual AFTK member to access member pricing. If your dojo is an AFTK member dojo, you are eligible for member pricing (no individual membership required). The AFTK aims to keep events affordable and accessible to all participants.

This seminar will be held face-to-face only.

Prices are in AUD. Early Bird ends 19th July. Lunch included when you register for all sessions.

Seminar Sessions & Timings

Sunday 2 Aug 2026
All sessions run for 90minutes each. Lunch (30min break) is held between Session 2 and 3 at 12:30pm.

8:30am - Business Breakfast for Instructors | Mohiuddin Syed - (Lion Budokan Karate International) - Dojo automation, including student onboarding, grading, general communication using sms and emails and social media.

9:30am - Karate | Giovanni Agosta (Oakleigh Karate | Battistello Shukokai) - Exploring the concepts of tension and relaxation in generating power upon striking impact. Effectively delivering stronger and more connected gyaku zuki and mae geri waza.

11:00am - Karate | Paul Tomassini (Heiko Ryu KarateDo) - Atemi no Maai sabaki: A compilation of impacting techniques connecting from long range to very close.

1:00pm - Kobudo | Rick Ross (Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan) - Okinawan short-range weapons, up close and personal. Utilising Sai, Tonfa and Nunchaku.
