Following a beautiful first gathering on the Northern Beaches, we warmly invite you to continue this cycle of prayer with us.

Nestled between the Australian bush and the ocean, our ceremonial home in Ingleside sits amongst she-oaks, eucalyptus and the natural beauty of the Northern Beaches.

Temazcal is not simply a hot sweat experience.

It is a traditional ceremonial way of prayer carried through generations across the Americas. Stones are heated in the fire and brought into the lodge where we gather in song, humility, gratitude and intention.

While many people today search for the next healing experience, Temazcal invites something different.

A path.

A practice of returning.

A place to pray for ourselves, our families, our communities, our ancestors and the generations yet to come.

Honouring Country

We gather with deep respect for the traditional custodians of this land.

We acknowledge the Guringai People of the Wannangini Nation and offer our gratitude to Uncle Laurie, whose blessing and support have helped make it possible for this ceremony to be held on this Gadigal land.

As guests on Country, we gather in the spirit of respect, reciprocity and community, carrying the medicine ways of the Americas while honouring the wisdom, traditions and custodianship that have cared for this land since time immemorial.

What is a Temazcal?

Temazcal is an ancestral ceremony found throughout parts of the Americas and remains a living tradition carried by Indigenous communities today.

At its simplest, it is a ceremony of heat, prayer and connection held within a dome-shaped lodge. Stones are heated in the fire outside and carefully brought into the lodge throughout the ceremony. Water is offered to the stones, creating steam, heat and an environment that supports deep physical, emotional and spiritual work.

Yet Temazcal reaches far beyond the physical experience.

While many people arrive expecting only a sweat lodge, they often discover something much deeper — a space to slow down, listen, pray and reconnect with what truly matters.

This ceremony invites us into relationship with the unseen world, with our ancestors, with the land beneath our feet and with the deeper intelligence that guides life itself.

A Path of Prayer

Our family does not view Temazcal as a one-off healing experience.

We view it as a path.

A practice of returning to prayer again and again.

A practice of showing up for our families, our communities and ourselves.

Some lodges are powerful and intense. Others are gentle and deeply nourishing. We are not a military-style lodge family. Every ceremony is guided according to the people present and what is genuinely needed on the day.

There is medicine in intensity.

There is also medicine in subtlety.

Both are welcome.

The Northern Beaches Lodge

Our Sydney lodge is held on a beautiful private property in Ingleside on the Northern Beaches.

Nestled amongst she-oaks, eucalyptus and Australian bushland, the lodge sits only minutes from the ocean while remaining deeply connected to the stillness of the land itself.

This ceremonial home has grown from many years of friendship, trust and shared prayer. Long before the lodge was planted, the land caretaker committed himself to building a genuine relationship with this ceremony, its traditions and the community carrying it.

For us, this matters.

Temazcal is not something we simply place onto a piece of land.

It is something that grows through relationship, service and prayer.

Our first community weekend confirmed something we had been praying towards for a long time; that there is a genuine desire for traditional ceremony, meaningful community and a place where people can continue returning.

The vision remains simple.

To continue tending a home for prayer on the Northern Beaches.

A place where people gather around the fire, strengthen relationships, deepen their connection with Spirit and continue walking this path together.

We gather approximately every six weeks, allowing this community to deepen through consistency, relationship and prayer.

Two Days of Ceremony

Once again, we'll gather across two days of ceremony.

Saturday - 9:30am

Sunday - 9:30am

Participants are welcome to attend one ceremony or both.

Each lodge stands on its own, yet for those who choose to sit for the full weekend there is a unique opportunity to deepen their prayer, build relationship with the community and spend more time around the fire.

As with our first gathering, those who wish to support the space are welcome to arrive earlier in the morning.

Preparing the altar, tending the fire, gathering water, supporting the lodge, sharing food and spending time in community are all part of the medicine.

Often, some of the deepest teachings are found not only inside the lodge itself, but in the simple acts of service that surround it.

Early arrival from 8am, we ask that everyone has arrived on the land by 9am. 
Ceremony tends to be finished, with food shared around the fire and people departing from 1:30pm.

Family & Community

The central prayer of our fire family is the healing and strengthening of family.

We pray for healthy relationships.

We pray for children.

We pray for parents.

We pray for reconciliation.

We pray for connection between generations.

For this reason, grandparents, parents, young people and children are all welcome within our community.

Whether you arrive alone or with loved ones, you will be welcomed as family.

If this is your first Temazcal, do not let that stop you.

We will meet you where you are.

Giving Back

This year, $5 from every ticket puchased from ceremonies are returned directly to our international fire family.

These funds support the ongoing vision of carrying and protecting these ceremonial ways through the spine of the Americas; from Patagonia in the south of Chile to Alaska in the north, alongside the continued growth of Kiva, Vision Quest, Sundance and Temazcal communities dedicated to prayer, service and cultural preservation.

By attending ceremony, you are helping support not only your local community but also the wider family carrying these traditions across generations and continents.

What to Bring

Women:
Long dress, skirt and blouse, or sarong.

Men:
Boardshorts or sarong.

Please also bring:

• Towel and change of clothes

• Offerings for the land (flowers, tobacco, crystals or natural offerings)

• A small plate of food, fruit or something simple to share after ceremony

Following lodge we will have soup and fruit available for the community. Sharing food together around the fire is an important part of our gatherings and helps support the sense of family and connection that continues beyond the ceremony itself.

Women who are beyond their first trimester of pregnancy are welcome to participate. If you are unsure whether the ceremony is suitable for you, please reach out before booking.

For those who feel called to support the space, you are welcome to arrive from 8:00am to assist with altar preparation, fire tending, water collection and preparing the lodge for ceremony.
