Featuring the original songs of the Jeanette Wormald Trio, singer songwriter Toshi Sakamoto, acapella group the Sisterhood of Song and harpist Joy Zahner.Original artists, intellectual property and live music are under threat from the lack of supportive regulations in Australia - and the world.
Jeanette Wormald has built a reputation as a singer songwriter over five independently released albums. Many of her songs from 30 years of recordings have resonated with others - they have given a voice to their journeys too.
She has touched on issues such as domestic violence, reconciliation and amplified the experiences of women living in isolation and celebrated the richness and diversity of Aboriginal Australia.
Toshi Sakamoto is a Japanese-born, Kuranda-based folk singer-songwriter. Through original songs, gentle English storytelling, expressive vocals and simple nylon-string guitar, he guides audiences beyond language into a shared experience of compassion, forgiveness, hope and a prayer for peace. In his concerts, authentic artistic identity is honoured, and a human connection is discovered through live music.
The Sisterhood of Song is an acapella group, singing songs with messages of hope, of love and the power of the human spirit.
Concerts like this are the only way musicians can safely share their music with an audience.
