Join PMI Victorian History Library and Hawthorn Historical Society for a special Seniors and History Month event.A Thursday afternoon stroll highlighting the history in and around Glenferrie Road, from wooded urban retreats to the bustling metropolis. Come to be entertained and surprised by the precinct’s hidden secrets, and stories of runaway hearses, brick pits and misplaced Brownlows.
The walk will guided by Elizabeth Love, who has deep family roots in Hawthorn and a passion for preserving its stories, the walk will explore the geography, gardens, remarkable homes, and local legends that shaped Hawthorn.
This is a 2-hour stroll on even ground (with some hills), so remember those sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
