Join us for an insightful Tech Talk exploring the innovative research that is helping shape safer, healthier, and more inclusive mining workplaces across Western Australia. This event will showcase the work of three PhD candidates undertaking postgraduate research through scholarships administered under the Western Australian Government's Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) Program. 

The MARS Program is a significant government initiative focused on improving work health and safety, mental wellbeing, and workplace culture within the mining industry. Through this event, attendees will gain valuable insights into emerging research addressing psychosocial safety, occupational hygiene, and workplace climate in mining operations. 

Presenting their findings will be Neil James, Benjamin Walsh and Nousheen Fatima, whose research explores:

• Psychosocial Capital as a protective factor in workplace mental health
• Occupational hygiene dust sampling practices in Western Australian mining operations
• The role of psychosocial safety climate in the mining industry

Designed for industry professionals, researchers, universities, and stakeholders invovled in mining innovation and safety, this event provides an opportunity to connect with emerging research, engage directly with the researchers during Q&A sessions, and learn how the MARS Program is supporting evidence-based improvements across the resources sector.
