Magnetic Island sea dumping application information sessions
About
Thank you for your interest in the Port of Townsville's sea dumping permit application consultation program.As part of the consultation process, the Port will be hosting a series of public stakeholder information and feedback sessions in Townsville and on Magnetic Island.
These sessions are designed to provide an overview of the project, explain the studies and assessments undertaken to support the application, and provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share feedback.
To ensure sessions remain accessible, safe and conducive to meaningful discussion, attendance numbers are limited by the capacity and configuration of the selected venues.
As a result, registration is essential and places will be allocated on a first-registered basis.
Where possible, community groups, organisations and stakeholder bodies may wish to consider nominating one or more representatives to attend on behalf of their members.
This will help maximise opportunities for a broad range of stakeholder interests to participate in the available sessions.
Each session will follow the same format, therefore please only register to attend one.
By registering for a session, you consent to the Port using the information provided solely for the purposes of administering the consultation process, communicating important updates and responding to feedback received during consultation.
We encourage early registration to avoid disappointment and thank you for taking the time to participate in the consultation process.
Registrations are free and will close 5pm, Sunday 2 August 2026, so please be sure to register before this date.
Attendance at a consultation session is not required in order to participate in the consultation process.
A range of additional engagement opportunities will be available, including:
• Access to consultation materials via the website;
• Review of technical studies, fact sheets and supporting information;
• Submission of an online feedback form;
