IN CELEBRATION of the Birth Centenary of Revered Pravrajika Ajayaprana Mataji, the Vedanta Society of NSW presents a special program of live music, dance and a play.Featuring performances by Avijit Sarkar’s “Gunjan Choir Group”, dances by Geetanjali School of Dance & Performing Arts, a dance performance by Mythily Baker and a Sarod Recital by Tanim Hayat Khan.
The play, ‘Universal Heart’, highlights how Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi, a simple village woman, inspired three powerful Western Women and others - followers of Swami Vivekananda - to expand the educational and occupational opportunities for women in India, also culminating in the formation of the Sri Sarada Math Order of Nuns, the first Order of its type entirely run by women. Rev. Ajayaprana established the Order’s first foreign Centre in Sydney in 1982.
It's a play whose messages resonate today, addressing the universal and timeless issues of seeking balance and fulfilment in our lives.
