Harnessing caregiving experience into employment, education and enterprise opportunities.Caring for a family member, friend or loved one develops skills that are often overlooked.
This practical workshop helps carers recognise, articulate and apply the knowledge, strengths and experience they have gained through caregiving.
Participants will:
- Identify transferable skills developed through caregiving
- Learn how to communicate those skills to employers
- Explore local employment opportunities
- Discover training and education pathways
- Connect with other carers
- Consider opportunities in community care, disability support and aged care
- Explore what it takes to start a simple home-based care or respite service
