A special evening of captivating live music and storytelling by the Van Walker Trio and local favourite Sarah Carroll.

The acclaimed Van Walker Trio return to Queenscliff, bringing their masterful storytelling and lush 'chamber folk' music, combining guitar, cello, dobro and soaring vocal harmonies.
The beloved Sarah Carroll writers and sings songs that chime with sincerity, well known as a member of GIT, The Junes, The Pirates Of Beer, Soft Gold, The Left Wing, and Tin Stars.
The Van Walker Trio combines masterful storytelling with captivating musical interplay of cello, guitar and dobro.
This exciting collaboration between acclaimed songwriter Van Walker, cellist Garreth Skinner, and slide guitarist Dan Musil, weave Walker’s spellbinding songwriting with lush string arrangements melding folk, blues and classical influences.

Van Walker is a prolific and celebrated Tasmanian songwriter – and a 'cult figure' in his adopted home towns of Melbourne and Geelong – with a vast catalogue of poetic lyric-driven material that explores wide-ranging personal and social themes.
Van’s works range from acclaimed solo folk albums, band projects including The Swedish Magazines and The Livingstone Daisies, and as a member of the Vandemonian Lags stage production with Mick Thomas, Tim Rogers, Brian Nankervis and others.
Van continues to tour consistently nationally and internationally and is highly regarded in the Australian music scene and respected for his contributions to the industry.
Walker’s newest album 'Healing Descent" has been described by Mick Thomas as “Another effortless classic album”, and Tim Rogers as: "Messages from an unearthly time: beyond our modern tropes. I wanna live in that time."

Garreth Skinner has recorded and performed extensively with bands including the Ergot Derivative, bZARK, Disaster Plan, the Holy Sea and, currently, the Sand Pebbles. He has played on over 100 recordings of Australian artists, including Powderfinger, Something for Kate and others. He has composed soundtracks for films including Crackerjack, Bowtown and others, TV including the two Judith Lucy ABC series, and several short films.

Dan Musil plays lapsteel and slide guitar like no-one else. Dan’s slide guitar-playing has seen him become a frequent touring and recording musician with numerous artists, alongside his growing reputation as a solo performer. Having composed and record numerous documentary and film pieces, Dan’s new EP combines renowned haunting instrumental slide guitar with boisterous songs of social satire; traditional Celtic jigs and reels to stomping acoustic blues, lullabies & musical journeys.

Sarah Carrol
Sarah Carroll is an individual who simply oozes musicality: a gorgeous, soulful singer, a beautiful instrumentalist, and someone who has an intrinsic understanding of all manner of roots music. Her songs chime with sincerity and deal largely with her experiences as a teacher, mother, wife, political animal and touring musician.

Following the release of her 6th studio album, NQR&B on Cheersquad Records in mid 2024, Sarah and her 4 piece band The Big Fuss toured Victoria and NSW, with keen interest and support from radio and print media. Sarah was invited to open for Tim Rogers on his regional Vic tour in December, and in between, launched a new album with her band The Cartridge Family.

In addition to her solo work, Sarah is known for her contribution to bands such as GIT, The Pirates Of Beer, Soft Gold, The Left Wing, Tin Stars and The Junes, her work with her late husband, the legendary harmonica player and singer-songwriter Chris Wilson and their sons, the acclaimed singer/songwriters Fenn Wilson and George Carroll Wilson, as well as her decades of broadcasting and music writing experience.
