About the WebinarIn this presentation, Dr. Beaudreau will describe the use of Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) with older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and suicide risk. She will review the rationale for using PST with older populations, discuss evidence supporting its use with military Veterans receiving home-based care and in a randomised controlled trial focused on late-life suicide prevention, and provide practical recommendations for applying PST effectively with older adults.
About the Presenter
Dr. Beaudreau is a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified geropsychologist. She is a centre investigator with the Sierra Pacific Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Centre at VA Palo Alto Health Care System and a Clinical Professor (Affiliated) of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine. A VA subject matter expert in Problem-Solving Therapy, she has more than 15 years of experience researching its use with older adults experiencing anxiety, other mental health conditions, or suicidal ideation. Since 2012, she has supported implementation through training, consultation, and development of materials for primary care, mental health, and home-based settings.
