COURSE OVERVIEW

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Delivered by Community Languages Victoria (CLV) in partnership with CPR First Aid, a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 21903), this course is designed for community language school teachers, staff and volunteers who require nationally recognised CPR certification for workplace, compliance or professional development purposes.

This nationally recognised course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This CPR course is one of the most requested courses, specifically covering the ability to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation on adults, children and infants. It will provide you with an understanding of how to apply Basic Emergency Life Support, CPR and Defibrillation (AED) until more advanced medical help arrives.

Looking for First Aid + CPR?
This course is CPR only (HLTAID009).
If you require HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid, do not book this course, as CPR is already included within the First Aid qualification.

TOPICS COVERED

  • Perform CPR on adult, child and infant manikins
  • Place an unconscious casualty into the recovery position
  • Manage choking, regurgitation and vomiting
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator(AED)
  • Apply Basic Emergency Life Support procedures
  • Complete accurate incident reporting
  • Understand workplace procedures and legal responsibilities
  • Refresh basic anatomy, physiology and infection control principles

DELIVERY MODE

This course consists of:

  • Online theory and assessment (must be completed before attending)
  • 1.5-hour face-to-face practical session

Participants who do not complete the online component before the deadline will not be permitted to attend the practical training.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Community Languages Victoria is committed to making this training as accessible as possible.
During registration, participants will be asked whether they require any language, literacy, numeracy or digital (LLND) support. This information allows us to notify the training provider in advance so that appropriate assistance can be arranged where required.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) is required to receive certification.
  • Online theory and assessment must be completed before attending the practical session.
  • Participants must attend the session they have booked.
  • Please ensure your full legal name matches your identification and USI records.

BOOKING TERMS

To confirm participant numbers with the training provider, all bookings are final and non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend, you may request a transfer to another available session (subject to availability) for a $25 administration fee.
