Betsy hated reading. To her, books were boring, dusty things filled with too many words and not enough fun.
But when her mother encourages her to read a strange, mysterious and magical book, Betsy discovers that this is no ordinary story. Each time she turns a page, she is whisked into a new adventure - exploring enchanted forests and meeting characters who need her help and, in turn, teach her how magical reading can be.
At first, Betsy only wants to find her way home. But with every chapter, she learns that stories can be exciting, surprising and full of magic. By the time the final page turns, Betsy discovers something she never expected, a love of reading that had been waiting inside her all along.
