Introduction to Songwriting (Yr7 - Yr 12)

Join us for Introduction to Songwriting presented by two of our teachers, Hava Lavers and Julian Smith-Gard. In this workshop, we'll be looking at popular songs written by artists across the world, and exploring what it is that makes their songs so catchy!
You'll learn to play basic chords, structure your very own verses and choruses, and write lyrics to put to your music.

- Set your own lyrics to music
- Record your songs to show friends and family!
Students attending will be encouraged to play piano, ukuele or guitar throughout the workshops and must be comfortable working in groups with other students.
In the second half of the session, we'll be focussing on writing songs in groups based on your own ideas and stories with your own chords, strucutre and musical elements - fromt scratch!
Age range: 12 - 18 years old (Yr 7 - Yr 12)
Lunch/ Snacks: Bring a packed lunch and snacks for our breaks. Please avoid nuts. Don't forget your drink bottle.
What to bring: a guitar or ukuele (if you have one)
