growHER Long Lunch Wellbeing Initiative
About
You are warmly invited to join us for the growHER Long Lunch Wellbeing Initiative, an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the incredible women in our community. This is a chance to connect, share and learn, while building awareness and understanding around wellbeing in our rural communities. In a community like ours that is reliant on agriculture - one that faces ongoing pressures and challenges - these conversations matter more than ever.
It’s an opportunity to share a laugh, start a conversation, and be part of something that could truly make a difference.
Share a laugh. Start a conversation. Change a life.
Featuring Master of Ceremonies and stand-up comedian Georgina Humphries, alongside keynote speaker and rural mental health advocate Mary O’Brien, the day will blend laughter with meaningful conversation around mental health, wellbeing, and the important role women play in supporting the men in our rural communities.
We are proud to welcome Mary O’Brien, Founder of Are You Bogged Mate?, as our keynote speaker. Raised on the land, Mary brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing farming families and rural communities. With honesty, humour and practical insight, she makes mental health conversations more accessible, especially when it comes to supporting the men in our lives. Her work has been recognised nationally, but it’s her honest, down-to-earth approach that resonates most with rural communities.
Adding to the afternoon, Georgina Humphries - “The Thriller from Millaa Millaa” - will bring her fast-paced, light-hearted and quirky humour. With a style that is distinctly regional and deeply relatable, Georgina draws on life in North Queensland, diving headfirst into life’s absurdities and finding comedy, chaos and heart in the most unexpected people and places. Her storytelling resonates with local audiences, offering both laughter and a fresh, insightful take on the topics that matter to our communities.
