Exhibition Launch: Melbourne’s Chinatown Celebrates 50 Years

The 50th Anniversary Arches Celebration will take place in Melbourne Chinatown on 22 August, featuring a lion and dragon parade, cultural performances, and a special exhibition running until 30 August.Event Program
11:30am – Parade of Lions and Dragons through the iconic Melbourne Chinatown Archways along Little Bourke Street
12:00pm – Cultural Showcase featuring performances by the Chinese Masonic Society and Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne in Chinatown Plaza
1:00pm – Official launch of the special exhibition “Melbourne’s Chinatown Celebrates 50 Years” at the Chinese Museum, showcasing Lion and Dragon displays, along with historical photographs celebrating Melbourne Chinatown and its iconic Archways through the decades
Light refreshments will be served following the exhibition launch, with the event concluding at 2:00pm.
The special exhibition will be open from Saturday 22 August to Saturday 29 August. We extend our sincere thanks to the individuals and community organisations whose generous contributions have made this exhibition possible.

• Limited seating will be available.
• A designated accessible viewing area will be provided in Chinatown Plaza.
