Respect in Practice: Helping to prevent harmful behaviour

An interactive workshop to unpack what gender-based violence looks like and how students can look out for each other on-campus, online and in everyday interactions and where to go for further support. You’ll learn practical ways to be an ethical bystander, and how to respond with care, compassion and respect if someone opens up to you about an experience.The training has been developed in consultation with ECU psychologists and subject‑matter experts and will be delivered as an interactive 90‑minute, in‑person session.

This online workshop includes discussion of gender‑based violence, consent, and experiences of harm. The session is trauma‑informed and support information will be available. You’re encouraged to take care of yourself and step out at any time if needed.
This training has been designed to be completed after the Respect Matters online module. We encourage you to complete this module prior to attending this sessions.
