About

Inspired by the weaving women of Greek Mythology. Defined by patience, craft and quiet power, Written In Cloth shares the stories of Ariadne, Arachne, Athena, Philomela, and Procne; women who used weaving to find agency within their fates.

Three dancers and three musicians move through these stories and through the performance space itself, blending in and out of character to draw a thread between myth and today.

Whether you know these myths inside out or are meeting these tales for the first time, we’re creating space for you. Rather than treating these women as footnotes in someone else's odyssey, we give them the stage, and the audience journeys with them.

With a mix of reality and fiction, the performance finds each story through movement, music, and voice. It expresses how narrative can live beyond the written word, in the same way stories across many cultures have long been carried through dance, song, and cloth.
