Suzanne HandelUntil recently, Suzanne Handel spent most of her life in the classical music world. She was a Juilliard Music School graduate, a winner of many international harp competitions, soloist with major orchestras around the world, and Principal Harpist of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra for 29 years.
But this is not a Classical Music concert!
Suzanne is now following her heart by playing music she loves, arranging her favourite tunes for harp, and just having a damn good time!
Meanwhile… Back At The Ranch delivers a contemporary version of the eclectic Western Swing style that swept through the south-western states of America in the swing era of the 1930’s -1940’s. The band takes an entertaining approach to this rich genre that embraces elements of swing, country, hillbilly boogie, jazz, and jump blues. Sometimes also known as Texas Swing, it’s at its best when performed with guitars, fiddles, double bass and big hats!
In the spirit of the Western Swing pioneers, the band keeps it fresh by swinging some very unlikely choices including pop tunes, and rock tunes that you will never hear the same way ever again.
