About

Practical strategies for regulation, communication and learning

Presented by Alex Morse
Registered Music Therapist and Director of Creative Therapies Tasmania

Music can be a powerful tool for supporting children's regulation, communication, connection and learning. This practical workshop will explore how educators can intentionally embed music into everyday routines, transitions and play.

Through guided examples and hands-on experiences, Alex will explore how rhythm, melody and repetition can support brain development; how music can be used for co-regulation and smoother transitions; ways to strengthen language, joint attention and social connection; and how everyday musical experiences can support memory, sequencing and early literacy.

You don't need to be musical to use music effectively. The focus is on simple, purposeful strategies educators can confidently take back and use immediately within their own early childhood settings. Alex's approach is grounded in music therapy, neurodevelopment and regulation, the EYLF, play-based learning and neuroaffirming relational practice.
