As Hotel Kurrajong celebrates 100 years, join us for a special centenary high tea inspired by the decade in which the hotel first opened its doors.
Spend an afternoon exploring the stories, flavours and spirit of the 1920s while enjoying a beautifully curated high tea, a glass of sparkling wine on arrival and a specialty centenary tea created in partnership with The Tea Centre.
Throughout the event, historian and storyteller Elizabeth Burness will share fascinating stories of Canberra in its early years, offering a glimpse into the people, culture and defining moments that shaped both the nation's capital and Hotel Kurrajong's rich history.

About Elizabeth Burness
A lively storyteller with a passion for the past, Elizabeth Burness has spent more than 20 years building a collection of antique and vintage clothing and ephemera. With a background in museum education, she is known for bringing history to life through engaging stories that connect people with the experiences of earlier generations.
The 1920s hold a particular fascination for Elizabeth. A decade of change, optimism and new beginnings, the era shaped both Canberra's development and the opening chapter of Hotel Kurrajong's story. Through her talks, guests will gain a deeper appreciation of the people, culture and spirit that defined the time.
Join us as we celebrate a century of hospitality, history and community with an afternoon inspired by the era that helped shape Hotel Kurrajong and Canberra alike.
