Na’ama Rose Kochman is a coral ecologist and marine biologist at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, whose research explores coral reefs and their response to a changing climate. Currently in Australia conducting research, Na’ama brings a unique personal and scientific perspective to understanding these vital marine ecosystems and the remarkable resilience of corals in the Gulf of Aqaba/Eilat.Coral reefs are among the world’s most important and threatened ecosystems. Na’ama will explore the vital role reefs play in marine life and human wellbeing, the impact of climate change, and what we can learn from reefs under pressure. Comparing Australia’s Great Barrier Reef with the remarkable resilience of corals in the Gulf of Aqaba/Eilat, she will share a fascinating story of scientific discovery, adaptation and hope amid a changing climate.
