We are delighted to have Dan Bourchier join us to chat about The Elders, with Bridget Brennan.The Elders is a powerful and evocative journey through the heart of First Nations Australia. In these pages we're invited to sit down, listen to and learn from the keepers of the world's oldest living culture.
Through intimate conversations with Dan Bourchier, we meet Elders such as Aunty Valda Napurrula Shannon Warntaparri, Uncle Ross Jakamarra Williams and Aunty Gail Mabo, and explore the profound interconnectedness of Country, language, kinship and the environment. Each reflects upon the unique perspectives, opportunities, and challenges First Nations peoples face today. More than a collection of stories, this is a vital call for truth-telling, healing and the urgent preservation of culture in the face of a changing world. These Elders share the pain of past displacement and loss. They also point the way to a better future.
