Through this webinar, clinicians will gain a clear understanding of the important role shower commodes play in pressure injury prevention and management. They will learn how to assess individual needs and risk factors, and how to select or customise commodes to support independence, postural stability and pressure redistribution. By applying these principles, clinicians can facilitate safer and more comfortable personal care while maintaining dignity and enhancing quality of life. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to assess individual pressure care needs and identify risks associated with inappropriate shower commode use 

  • Build clinical reasoning skills for selecting shower commodes that supports effective pressure management while aligning with the individual’s functional abilities and personal goals 

  • Explore commode features and customisations that enhance posture stability, pressure management, comfort and safety during personal care 
 

 

This session is recommended for Occupational Therapists, Senior Occupational Therapists, and other healthcare professionals seeking to build confidence in prescribing and customising shower commodes.
