Low Pay? Don't Pay! - Italian Festival
Location
About
• Fast, furious and fiercely funny, Dario Fo’s Low Pay? Don’t Pay! explodes onto the Italian Festival on 22 November, with two shows at 3pm and 7pm at the Fogolar Furlan Club.
• When soaring prices push ordinary families beyond breaking point, Antonia and Margherita take matters into their own hands—with increasingly chaotic consequences. Mistaken pregnancies, stolen groceries, suspicious husbands and bumbling authorities collide in this energetic political farce about the cost-of-living crisis, inequality and the extraordinary things people do to survive.
• Performed in the round with physical comedy, ensemble energy and plenty of Italian theatrical spirit, this is a hilarious, hopeful celebration of resistance, solidarity and people refusing to face hardship alone, together.
• The performance is in English
• Free coffee and cake courtesy of the Avenue Restaurant with a pre-show dinner available.
• Please note that we are offering performances at Hawthorn Community Centre, 5 Frimley Grove, Hawthorn on these dates: Nov Sat 28th & Sun 29th at 2pm and 7.30pm; and Dec Sat 5th & Sun 6th at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets for the Hawthorn Community Centre shows
