A bit about Michael.
In 1984 a young muso in Melbourne, with a newfound confidence, felt it was time to break out and take a solo billing. “Michael Charles” wrote, recorded, released, and promoted his music while touring across Australia.
In 1989, a turning point in his life and career came in the form of an invitation to appear at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago USA. It was not too long after he decided to make America his home.
As of 2026 his USA career comprises a catalogue of 43 releases, an induction into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame, ten times Grammy elected and recognition of remaining one of America’s most driven artists, annually touring across USA, Canada, Australia delivering at each stop an unprecedented concert of original, guitar forward, contemporary blues, blues-based rock and ballads.
Celebrating his 42nd anniversary in 2026, MC graces the stage at Bruthen Mechanics Hall. We invite you to share the experience as he conjures up all the memories, the love, and the gratitude to the country and the people where it all began.
