BECAUSE I LOVE YOU SO, a benefit concert for Ukraine
About
WHERE HISTORY SINGS, HOPE RESONATESJoin us for "BECAUSE I LOVE YOU SO," a benefit concert for Ukraine that will pay tribute to the enduring spirit of a proud nation.
All proceeds and donations support Ukraine Crisis Appeal clinical music therapy programs for trauma rehabilitation. As the prolonged conflict in Ukraine continues, the need for this life-changing mental health resource has become critical.
The Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, led by conductor John Keene, tenor Paul O’Neill, mezzo-soprano Ruth Burke, pianists Anna Sleptsova and Marilyn Phillips, violinist Paul Wright and a chorale of resplendent opera voices unite to fill the grandeur of St George’s Cathedral with an evening of deeply moving and evocative music.
Feel the profound impact of the World Premiere by Lydia Gardiner titled Black Earth (because I love you so), a work inspired by specific Ukrainian songs and melodies that define the Ukrainian character, profound love for and deep connection to the land, its traditions and history.
Be deeply moved by the masterpieces of Franz Xaver Mozart, Charles Gounod, Giacomo Puccini, Zdeněk Fibich, William Gomez, Camille Saint-Saëns and Charles Williams.
