A sea-faring musical journey with the Hobart Orpheus Choir
Set sail with the Hobart Orpheus Choir for a captivating musical journey celebrating the drama, beauty and enduring mystery of the sea.
At the heart of Storms and Still Waters is Stanford's magnificent Songs of the Fleet, capturing the spirit of life at sea, with Hobart baritone Tom Flint as soloist. The voyage continues with Paul Jarman's stirring Let Go the Long White Sails and Shackleton, the poignant Crossing the Bar, the haunting Shenandoah and the tender Seal Lullaby.
From the rollicking rhythms of sea shanties Wellerman and A Drop 'o Nelson's Blood to the evocative Away from the Roll of the Sea and the nautical adventures of Gilbert and Sullivan, this varied programme journeys from high seas to quiet reflection.
Join us for Storms and Still Waters - a memorable voyage in song!
