About
Experience an evening of inspiring music in the magnificent setting of St Andrew’s Cathedral.
Following submissions from choirs across the globe, the Excelsia College International Christian Choral Celebration concludes with a special live event at one of Australia’s most iconic sacred spaces.
Join choirs, worshippers, musicians and audiences from across the world for the culmination of the Celebration, in partnership with St Andrew’s Cathedral Choir, all in aid of the Community Chaplaincy at the Cathedral.
The Celebration explores the themes of eternity, light and homelessness and celebrates the unifying power of Christian musical traditions through performance and shared participation.
Featured performances from selected works of choir entrants from this year’s Celebration: Antony Pitts ‘Eternity (Part 1)‘ premiere, inspired by Arthur Stace, whose one-word message ‘Eternity’ became an enduring symbol of Sydney’s spiritual heritage.
Gavin Bryars ‘Jesus’ Blood Never Failed Me Yet’, a moving and profound classic, based around the singing of a homeless man.
