ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Presented by Tara Crow & Co-Hosted by Fiona Sutherland
This webinar was delivered live on September 29th 2026.
Times of crisis are a perennial fact of life for us all.  For the supervisor, supporting a supervisee in crisis can present many challenges.  How do we balance the restorative functions of our role (focused on the supervisees wellbeing) with the normative functions of our role (focused on reviewing client care and competency to practice)?
This webinar is designed to help supervisors build confidence in their role when we may be triggered, overwhelmed or unsure how to proceed when working with this complexity.
Webinar outline:
  • Define what we mean by ‘crisis’ and appreciate its prevalence in the community and healthcare workforce
  • Invite reflection on: the impact of our own experiences of ‘crisis’ on our work life and concerns we may have about supervising a supervisee in crisis
  • Revisiting the functions and outcomes we are responsible for achieving as effective supervisors. These provide important guardrails for action
  • Describe, apply and demonstrate resources to use with supervisees that are within our scope of practice as professional supervisors
  • Name important support we can access for ourselves

Upon registration, you will receive the slides, recording, reflective practice prompts and a graphic to support integration of the webinar content into your supervision practice. These resources will be delivered to the email address you register with so please enter your details carefully.
