Ruby Glynn & Adam Davidson - Parts of Us
Location
Tempo Rubato
About
Ruby Glynn, vocals
Adam Davidson, piano
Parts of Us is a composing / improvising duo drawing from folk sensibilities, lyricism and, off-kilter aestheticism.
With a basis in jazz, and love of strange and beautiful music Ruby Glynn and Adam Davidson place an emphasis on developing and evolving pieces as a single entity, discarding the roles of soloist and accompanist.
Inspired by artists like Gillian Welch, Andrea Keller, Paul Bley and Norma Winstone, their music is structural, making space for spontaneous composition bound by themes from the tune.
Parts of Us presents two brand new sets of original pieces, co-written specifically for this arrangement. These pieces explore themes of coming of age, the beauty of the natural, love for things lost, and sisterhood. Parts of us on display , so that you might find a part of you.
TICKETS $30 | $25
Online sales close at 7:30pm on the day of the concert. Tickets can be purchased at the door, subject to availability. Tempo Rubato is a cashless venue.
