About
What becomes possible when we slow down long enough to notice?
The Pause Project is an immersive, interactive exhibition created through the inner worlds, ideas and artworks of children.
Across the year, they have explored creativity not simply as a way of making something, but as a way of understanding themselves. Their artworks, words and discoveries invite us into something they have been practising all year: slowing down enough to notice ourselves, one another and the world around us.
But this is not simply an exhibition to walk through. It is an experience to become part of.
As you journey through the exhibition, you will be invited to pause, reflect, explore and create through a series of thoughtfully designed interactive experiences. From individual moments of creativity to shared experiences of connection, there will be opportunities to engage with the exhibition in your own way and at your own pace. For adults, it is also an invitation to reconnect with the child within — to rediscover the freedom to play, imagine and create without expectation and remember a part of ourselves that has been quiet for a while.
At the heart of the experience, you will have the opportunity to create your own 15cm × 15cm canvas, transforming your reflections, ideas and discoveries into a personal artwork to take home.
There is no right way to experience The Pause. Project. No expectation of what you should discover or create. Simply an invitation to be present, follow your curiosity and see what unfolds.
In a world that moves quickly and constantly asks for our attention, The Pause Project invites us to:
Pause.
Notice.
Listen.
Create.
See differently.
And perhaps, as we leave, to ask ourselves:
What will I choose to notice, nurture and carry with me into the world?
A little note before you visit:
The exhibition will be open from 1:00pm–4:00pm.
We recommend allowing at least 45–60 minutes (or longer!) to fully immerse yourself in the experience, explore the artworks, engage with the interactive activities and enjoy the opportunity to pause, reflect and create.
Formalities will take place from 2:30pm–2:40pm.
You're welcome to arrive at any time during the exhibition hours and explore at your own pace.
