Come Cook with Niveen: A Taste of Sri Lanka
Location
About
Niveen has just returned from Sri Lanka, and she's come home full of inspiration from the food she ate there: vibrant, fragrant, deeply nourishing dishes that suit the warmer months perfectly. Now she's excited to share her new recipes and catch up with our clients over a relaxed, hands-on evening in the kitchen.
An Ayurvedic diet is designed to bring balance to body and mind, and it centres on the six tastes found across different food groups. As the days get warmer, it's the ideal time to shift towards lighter, cooling, fresh meals, and this workshop shows you how.
Join us for a Friday evening of food, conversation and fun. We'll explore the basics of an Ayurvedic diet, talk through key kitchen ingredients, spices, herbs and cooking methods, then cook a selection of Sri Lankan Ayurvedic dishes that work beautifully for a spring or summer lunch or dinner.
It's a lovely way to end the week and connect with your community. Bring a friend, and enjoy a shared meal, a warming chai and plenty of laughs.
In this 2.5 hour workshop, you will:
- Learn the key qualities and tastes of everyday food groups, and how to use them to keep your meals balanced through the warmer months
- Prepare a wholesome, delicious Ayurvedic meal and dessert or snack menu, the Sri Lankan way
- Take home recipe handouts for every dish we make
- Discover how to save time by creating dishes that can be used creatively across multiple meals
- Sit down together to enjoy the freshly prepared food with a refreshing chai
