The Woody Classic

Get your rods ready — The Woody Classic is back from 30 October to 2 November 2026!

Presented by Mcloughlin's Angling Club and Woodside Beach Hotel, this fishing competition covers surf, drone, offshore and inside fishing, with mystery-weight prizes across all categories.

There’s plenty to fish for:
• $200 men’s, $200 women’s and $100 kids’ prizes across all categories
• $500 for the heaviest snapper, sponsored by Blue Mackerel
• A $500 door prize, sponsored by Woodside Beach Hotel.

Kick off the weekend at Woodside Beach Hotel on Friday 30 October, with registration and a monster raffle from 6–8pm. Happy hour runs from 4:30–7pm, and raffle prizes include a $500 BCF voucher!

Get out fishing!

Then join the presentation on Monday 2 November from 3–5pm at Woodside Beach Hotel, where the door prize will be drawn. Stay on for happy hour from 5–6.30pm.

Entry is $20 for members, $40 for non-members and free for under-16s. 

For final details of the Comp, please attend the Registration and Major Raffle Night at the Woodside Beach Hotel from 6pm on Friday 30 October.

Fish can be weighed in in-person or pic sent in on brag mat - Must be caught Welshpool to McGaurans - 6am, Saturday 31 October to 1pm, 2nd November 2026.
