A Sunday afternoon in Napoli, brought to you by those who know it best...

In Naples, Sunday lunch is a tradition. It's when family and friends gather around the table, food is prepared with care, and the afternoon unfolds over generous plates of homemade dishes, conversation and a glass or two of wine.

For our next Amarti does Italy experience, we're bringing that tradition to life, with something particularly special.

Amarti's very own chefs, Santina and Luigi, were born and raised in Naples, the city famous for its pizza, incredible street food and deeply rooted culinary traditions. For this special afternoon, they'll be bringing a genuine taste of their hometown to Amarti, sharing the authentic recipes, flavours and traditions that have been part of their lives for generations.

This isn't simply a menu inspired by Naples. It's an opportunity to experience authentic Neapolitan food, prepared by the people who know it, using the recipes, techniques and traditions that make their cuisine so distinctive.

On Sunday 25th October, Amarti will take on the character of a Neapolitan courtyard, with rustic Italian styling, the warmth of our wood-fired oven and one long communal table, where guests will come together for a traditional Southern Italian feast.

From 1pm, settle in as Santina and Luigi take you on a culinary journey through the streets and family kitchens of Napoli.

We'll begin with Pizza Margherita a Portafoglio, the traditional folded street pizza synonymous with Naples, prepared fresh from our wood-fired oven.

Next, experience Cuoppo di Terra, a selection of Neapolitan street-food favourites, including zeppoline fritte, crispy fried polenta, frittatina di pasta and golden potato croquettes.

Then comes Pasta, Patate e Provola, a much-loved Neapolitan classic combining pasta, potatoes and melted cheese. Our chefs will bring a little Amarti theatre to this traditional dish, finishing it in our Italian cheese wheel.

To conclude, we'll serve Torta Caprese, the beautiful chocolate and almond cake originating from the nearby island of Capri.

Each dish has been chosen to represent a different part of Neapolitan food culture, from the bustling streets of Naples to the comforting meals traditionally enjoyed at home.

Throughout the afternoon, Santina and Luigi will share their love of Neapolitan cooking through the dishes they prepare, while guests enjoy a relaxed, leisurely Sunday lunch around our communal table.

This is what makes the afternoon special. The opportunity to experience the flavours of Naples firsthand right here in Gippsland, without travelling halfway around the world.
