About

Fresh off the release of his debut solo EP on November 16, Nick Carver is bringing his one-man junkyard blues racket to Archies Creek Hotel on Saturday November 21, with El Rollo kicking off the night.

Best known as the frontman of Nick Carver & The Mean St Butchers and one half of Blue Sabbath, Carver has spent years making noise across Australia's independent music scene. Now he's stripped things back, trading the full band for lap steel guitar, gritty vocals, fuzzed-out riffs and stomping rhythms.

Drawing inspiration from the hypnotic grooves of R.L. Burnside, the trashy garage rock of Jon Spencer and the wonderfully unhinged world of Bob Log III, Carver's new material is raw, rhythmic and deliberately rough around the edges.

His recent singles *Stones You Throw* and *Railroad* have attracted national radio attention, introducing audiences to a new musical direction built around simplicity, experimentation and instinct over rules.

Recorded with engineer Zac Camm at The Aviary, the EP captures the energy of live performances, with minimal overdubs and a focus on getting the songs right before hitting record. It's a collection of gritty, personal songs that draws on blues, garage rock and Americana without getting caught up in the usual clichés.

The November 21 show celebrates the EP's release, bringing the new material to the stage alongside Carver's unmistakable mix of dirty riffs, hypnotic grooves and left-field experimentation.

Joining Carver on the night are Bass Coast surf-rock outfit El Rollo, bringing their own high-energy blend of reverb-drenched guitars, swampy grooves and psychedelic surf sounds. Led by guitarist and songwriter Doc White, El Rollo take classic surf rock somewhere unexpected, mixing vintage rock 'n' roll with Balkan, Middle Eastern and Latin influences. With driving rhythms, scorching guitar lines and a healthy dose of musical mischief, they're the perfect band to get the room moving before Carver takes the stage.

For fans of Jon Spencer, R.L. Burnside, Bob Log III and anyone who likes their blues a little bent out of shape, this is a night of junkyard blues, garage rock, psychedelic surf and good old-fashioned musical mayhem.
