About

Want to improve your speed, strength and movement on the basketball court? Or better understand how to support young players to develop their athletic ability and reduce their risk of injury?

Collingwood Basketball Association is partnering with Prime Athletes to deliver an Athlete Development Workshop on Friday 6 November, providing practical skills and knowledge for players, coaches and parents across our VJBL and EDJBA programs.

Led by Cam Rigby, Head Coach and Director of Prime Athletes, this interactive workshop will focus on the physical foundations that support basketball performance, from movement mechanics and agility to strength, preparation and recovery.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

  • Preparation and recovery: Practical techniques for warming up, mobility, stretching and recovery.
  • Speed and agility: Improve acceleration, deceleration, lateral movement and change of direction.
  • Movement mechanics: Develop more efficient movement patterns to support performance.
  • Strength fundamentals: Understand how strength training supports athletic development and injury risk reduction.
  • Practical coaching drills: Activities and exercises that coaches can incorporate into training sessions.
  • Questions and answers: Learn directly from Cam throughout the workshop.

Players will take part in practical on-court activities, while coaches and parents can observe, ask questions and gain a better understanding of how to support young athletes.
