Please join the Sydney Consort for Concert Royale and all of its majestic, sophisticated music, which has been the source of the ensemble’s love affair with French baroque music for many years. The major influence which France did exert over the baroque age was one of courtly opulence. Louis XIV decided to convert an old hunting lodge at Versailles into a palace of unprecedented magnificence. The Royal Versailles was that famous place where one the best music of baroque ear was created.
