About

Gareth Evans’ highly anticipated follow-up to Cabinet Diaries, Incorrigible Optimist is a sometimes moving, often entertaining, and always lucid memoir of Evans’ decades in the public eye. George Megalogenis will ask why, despite multiple disappointments, Evans continues to believe that a safer, saner and more decent world is achievable, and why, for all its frustrations, politics remains an indispensable profession: not only for megalomaniacs, but idealists.
