Goulburn Valley Explorer - Saturday 15th September 2018

Departing Southern Cross station, explore the Goulburn Valley wineries or travel on to Shepparton in Steamrail’s heritage carriages behind a classic 1950s R class steam locomotive. The locomotive will perform a high speed run to Seymour in the morning, before being turned to continue at a slower journey to Shepparton. Our return run from Shepparton will see our R Class (number 761) lead at line speed where permitted from Shepparton to Melbourne.

FINE DINING AND TWO WINERIES

• Rail Fare included from Melbourne to Seymour, where you will transfer to coach to travel to our selected wineries. Following your visit to the wineries, you will travel by coach to rejoin the train at Shepparton. 

• Dine at the award-winning Muse Restaurant at Mitchelton Winery (two-course lunch).

• Relax and cruise on the Goulburn Explorer and tour the cellars at Tahbilks.

• Sample wines at Mitchelton, and Tahbilk – some of the Goulburn Valley’s best wineries.

MELBOURNE TO SHEPPARTON OPTION

Travel on to Shepparton. Relax over lunch in one of the many eateries, or hotels. Do a walking tour, visit the art gallery, pick up some bargains at the SPC outlet or just relax and enjoy a Saturday afternoon in regional Victoria.

SEYMOUR TO SHEPPARTON OPTION

A limited number of seats are available to experience steam hauled rail travel one way from Seymour to Shepparton. Our steam locomotive will be turned at Seymour prior to departing for Shepparton. Passengers will need to make their own arrangements to Seymour Railway Station and return from Shepparton Railway Station. 

ON TRAIN SERVICES

Our on train facilities include a kiosk, which stocks a wide range of light refreshments, sandwiches, souvenirs and hot and cold drinks. A licenced bar will also be opened serving a range of wine and beer and spirits. •
