About
The World Was Whole is the follow-up to Fiona's 2015 collection, Small Acts of Disappearance, which won the Nita B. Kibble Award and Queensland Literary Award for Non-Fiction. These new essays move beyond Wright's earlier focus on hunger and the body to consider the ways in which we inhabit our homes and our suburbs, and the places beyond them — and how easily familiarity can be disturbed by anxiety and illness.
