Cambria is considered one of the most important historic estates on the East Coast. The house was built for George Meredith, a person of significance in the colony of Van Diemen’s Land. Documented planning for the house and garden began in at least 1830. The proposed Cambria Green, a mega 3,000 hectare development, is currently under planning consideration.
