About
Culture keeper from The Solomon Islands, Natty Dolaiasi returns to Melbourne for a performance, sharing the evening with Melbourne/Naarm based compatriot Charles Maimarosia.
Together, they offer a traditional and a contemporary perspective on the culture of one of our near Pacific neighbours. Natty sees his role as preserving and disseminating the thousand year old cultural songs and chants of his home. For Charles, performance combines the contemporary perspective of an ex-pat with his grounding in the traditional music of Maliata the island where he and Natty originally are from.
