This highly informative course comprises 1-day course of lectures & laboratory practical sessions (opal, instruments and microscopes are provide a for a hands-on experience).

The course will mainly have an emphasis on practical application.

Some non-Australian opals are included. Treatments, synthetics and imitations will also be covered.

You will look at opal from a new perspective!

We will trust there is a rudimentary knowledge of opals, or you have completed the online GAA Opal course.
