Speaker Biography
Yolanda Finch (1995) is an integrative leader with enterprise-wide, executive experience spanning tourism, major events, marketing and commercial strategy - all built within complex, publicly accountable environments.
Yolanda began her career shaping one of the country's most visible cultural events in key creative, programming and operational roles at the Melbourne Fashion Festival, Australia's largest consumer fashion event and a Victorian Major Event. As Chief Operating Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer by the end of her 20-year tenure she contributed to corporate strategy and creative direction, led multidisciplinary teams, and guided the organisation through periods of growth, disruption and transformation.
She now leads Tourism, Premium Visitation and Special Events at Museums Victoria, where she built the department from the ground up in 2023. Under her leadership, the division has expanded the organisation’s capability in delivering major events and commercial tourism products, now delivering year-round activities that drive significant revenue - a hallmark of her ability to translate creative ambition into scalable, financially sustainable models.
Across fashion and culture, fast-moving festivals and major public institutions, Yolanda's throughline is consistent: creating experiences that inspire and leave people feeling they belong. She brings an energised, pragmatic leadership style and a deep belief in the role cultural institutions play in creating public value - through learning, place, connection and experiences that inspire people to engage, return and advocate.
Yolanda holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours, Art History) from the University of Melbourne, alongside qualifications in marketing, management and board governance.
